03 / THE COMMUNITY COMES FIRST

Run a community node.

Set up Afribit AI on a machine your community manages. Build around your local language, priorities and reviewed knowledge.

A machine at your hub serves everyone on the local Wi-Fi, with your own knowledge and your own database. With its own GPU, questions never leave your network.

Chat on a node is free for learners. A GPU with 16 GB runs today's default model for a small group; 24 GB runs Gemma 4 26B-A4B, the open-licensed model we are moving to, subject to our tests. No GPU? Afribit Local is coming for that.

Node mode keeps questions on the node. Hybrid mode can send questions to a hosted model, and the app says so. HTTPS is required to install the app. Push notifications need internet. Serving a node over the community mesh has not been tested yet.
